Blogspot and the embed tag

I need to find out if blogspot will handle an embed tag without a closing tag. Here's an exmple:



Here's the old way we used to do it with a slash at the end of the embed tag. That seems to work, too:


Finally, the last valid method, which is adding a separate "close-embed" tag after the embed tag:



...A-ha! After having created these and seeing they all work, I re-examined the blog html. Blogspot had converted all of them to have the closing embed tag. So they're all identical now, and all using that form.
